I believe that most of us have everything we need (right on board) to make the necessary adjustments in our thought processes that will increase the quality of life we perceive. Emotionally, people just got stuck or they just stagnated for way too long... even for decades in some instances.
It is true, that we can begin to put an end to what ever is holding us back, when we identify what those item(s) are that got us stuck in the first place.
Group discussions can really provide value and help you out immensely. You may be pleasantly surprised. The "take-away" potential you receive by listening to the conversations (and contributing too) can really shorten your own learning curve.
Individual Sessions (one-to-one) that are private, to work out the finer details of your life as well. My time is available to you, simply for the asking.
If you're wondering what qualifies me to speak on such difficult topics, below is a brief history that led me to where I am today...
2018 - Present
I own a school. In 2018, I began raising up the next generation of addiction counselors by starting my own Substance Use Disorder and Addiction Counselor Academy. I host online students who are actively pursuing the educational aspects of their new career with the Center for Higher Purpose. We all have a higher purpose, this enables students to give back in an enriching way.
2016 - 2018
I primarily worked inside the Prison System with "Lifers" who were getting ready to be released. I provided intense psycho-social services that helped them to connect-the-dots through their own torrid past while unlocking the achievement potential that took years of incarceration to develop. Today, nearly all of my former clients are living law-abiding citizens engaging in successful lives here on the free-side of the fence.
In this time period, I also ran Outpatient Recovery Clinics for Correctional Reentry and Reintegration as well as addressing Substance Use Disorders and Addiction with an Adult-aged population.
2014 - 2016
I worked in Florida at the Delray Community Wellness Center. I hosted discussion groups that Seniors loved to participate in. We discussed life after life, relationship repair, getting unstuck, and reducing their fear of dying and the unknown. We called our growing discussion groups "The Socrates Society". Many stayed after the group to meet and mingle with one another in a more personal way.
It was in this era of time, I became referred to as an "End-of-Life Doula". I'm pretty proud of that.
2010 - 2014
I worked at various community-based non-profit agencies with underserved populations experiencing cultural disparity, mental health challenges, in addition to also experiencing barriers to employment and/or stable housing options. I cared and helped my clients to move forward in personal achievement and reaching their goals despite the setbacks that made their journey so challenging.
